Gold at the end of the tunnel

The scene from the other night at Floreat drain. 3min exposure with the Lee Big Stopper

Decaying Sunset

Caught up with Brett Morgan last night and went down to Floreat Beach. After a late night of impromptu PS masterclasses from the man himself and a few too many reds I woke this morning in some what of a sombre mood. Here is the aftermath of combining  lack of sleep, red wine and heaps of laughs. Enjoy cheers Adrian

Osprey Residents

Many of you will know my connection with Mandurah and with all the time I spend there I find myself searching out new photographic locations. Most tend to be isolated in and around the vast estuary system or further south on the 4wd beaches. Mandurah Quay is a great residential location where a local pair of Osprey or Sea Hawks reside. This image was taken a week or so ago on a walk along the estuary. The low tide allowed me to walk right and around an area called the “Chimneys” which are old decaying tree trunks where the Osprey perch looking over the shallows hunting. The image above is the nesting site on the other side of “Chimneys” located on the south bank.

Wyndam Bridge Rush Hr.

Tonight I went for a walk around East Perth. The wife went out for her run so I grabbed her Fuji X100 and headed for Claisebrook Cove and the Wyndam Bridge. It was pretty much dark by the time I got out but I found a jetty pylon to use as a make shift tripod and captured the rush hour train from Burswood to East Perth. I really like this image and the movement of the train over the Wyndam Bridge. The Fuji x100 has proved itself a very worthy purchase as a walk around camera. It is versatile, brilliant in low light and attracts little attention, something I am hoping for later this year when touring Europe, particularly the U.K . Cheers Adrian

The Rock

Sugar Loaf Rock must be one of the most photographed and iconic locations associated with a visit to our South West. Most of you Photog blog followers and readers would have photographed this many times but as I said to CF the other day whilst in Dunsborough I had never seen it or photographed it. So here is my very first impression and image capture of Sugar Loaf Rock. There was a light shower when I took this image and another one approaching fast. Let me know your thoughts. Hope to be down there again this weekend. Its only 2.5 hrs drive from Mandurah so I will most likely do an early  morning run from there if any one is interested. Cheers Adrian

Conspicuous Cliffs ~ Walpole WA

Another place I often visit when down this far south. Its a dramatic coastline and on previous visits this rocky out crop had been covered with sand or simply not a place to reach by foot due to the swell. This was taken just as the sun was setting on the cliffs cliffs behind me providing that golden hour  warmth to what was a freezing evening. Enjoy !

Glorious Sandy Beach

Hey everyone well Im back home with a few worthy images from a recent trip to visit the family in Nornalup. Most of you will know my connection with the area and its always a great feeling to return there a few times a year if Im lucky. I’ve been to Sandy Beach many times yet my first recollection of seeing this vast inlet beach was about 30 yrs ago with my father who grew up here fishing with his father. So this is Sandy Beach at its very best. Its not often at this time of year to see Sandy Beach in all its glory but what a few days of glorious weather it was. Cheers Adrian

FUJI X100 Half Case # 2

Different angles however the most important one would have to be the middle image displaying the tripod thread. Left it out of the previous post and decided to quickly add it here tonight. Its a great addition allowing you to access the tripod without moving the camera from the leather case.

FUji X100 ~ JnK 1/2 Case

This arrived the other day from South Korea. Its a hand made limited edition red wine leather 1/2 case by Jnk Handworks. This is real craftsmanship at its very best. A stunning case that is warm and comfortable in the hand and the tripod thread and tethered lens cap is well worth the extra investment. Check out this little utube clip of the design process here or simpy log onto http://jnk-handworks.com/  If you would like a hands on experience leave a message and I can drop by Team Digital.  Also check out the “bug” in my previous post by Match Technical

Match Technical & JnK ~ Fuji x100

Check out this slightly unusual but incredibly useful accessory from Match Technical. Have a read about this accessory as well as the Thumbs Up EP-1 here for the Leica M9 and Fuji X100. ALso on its way from JnK is the 1/2 leather case. I will post up an image of Skye’s Fuji X100 when its all together. Ben @ Team Digital has seen it and had a go, its ultra sensitive and reduces camera shake and helps with multiple frames per second. To be honest it is very comfortable and finding the shutter button is a breeze. If you want to see it for your self leave a comment and I will drop by Team Digital. Finally Tim Isaac at Match Technical has been great with shipping the “bug”and any concerns or questions you have Im sure he would be more than happy to help. Tim has many new designs in the pipeline so don’t be shy, get some bling and personalise your Fuji.

Finally get into Team Digital for the latest firmware update for the X100. Read about the improvements here from Team Digital. Big thanks to Benny for working it out !
